(98) Tough Under Fire (Phase I) Master Lock versus 7.62 NATO (not so tough…)

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. That's a really nice M700 you have there, not too fancy but I bet it gets the job done. What bipod do you have there in the case? What magazine did you use?

  2. @Alex Blate
Yes, someone in the UK could reproduce the video. High powered rifles are legal in the UK including above 50 cal. Most gun ranges here are very safety conscious though so you would have to find your own place to shoot the lock.

  3. The Sargent Greenleaf did show a few areas internal that have sharp corners and may be subject to high stress concentration. Not sure what the material is or the hardness, but looks like there a few spots that would fracture rather easily. At least easier than dead center of the body. The Master reminds me of why a girder in a house made of 3 2×10's is stronger than a solid beam of equal dimensions. With a solid beam like the SG lock,  if there is a knot in the wood, it affects the strength of the entire beam. If 3 2×10's are used, laminated like the Master, if one 2×10 has a knot or defect, it only affects the 1/3 of the beam in that spot. I watched the other videos also. GREAT demonstration!!!  A buddy of mine has a 50 cal.  Maybe we'll go the the woods and kill some locks.

  4. Some time ago, I thought I would shoot a lock off like they do in the movies.I was using a pistol in .357 magnum.  several shots later the lock was still there and of course useless now after I mutilated it., I finally figured out it was easier to shoot the much weaker hasp the lock was on.  Even allot of chains on locks are weaker than the lock itself.

  5. I am chuckling to myself. This has to be the most non discreet way to open a lock. I would  love to start a locksmith business using that 308 as tool! Stand back mam i'll get you kitten cage unlocked 🙂 Seriously though I love animals, Its just the over kill factor I find amusing.
