(1003) Review: Double-Tap Snap Gun

LockLab is Fan funded!  Help pay for stuff to review, break and talk trash about, and maybe even give away when we’re done.  Join the Tribe!

My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Cool, does it really matter the price of the snap gun, being they all do the same thing ?
Also, what is the probability that a snap gun would work on more expensive locks, ie., Assa Abloy, Medico etc . . . . . …….??

How do the electric guns compare to the manual guns?

  2. Love the look of this snap gun and a huge fan of your work and tips for making picks better- brilliant

  3. Love your site. Recently became a member of the tribe! I have used your reviews to improve and am currently working through your class. Excellent tutorials!

  4. I bought a Glock 43, but it makes too much noise, when opening locks, and it seems really dangerous.

  5. Thanks Bill I have seen these snap gun and have always wondered if they worked as well as advertized. I like Sparrows equipment, nice to see this tool operated by someone who knows and more importantly can explain it use.
    Thanks as always.

  6. That Sparrows double-tap gun looks pretty effective. Still, I’m trying to develop better feel for spp.

    1. Have you read the short book by Mark Gibson called lock picking detail overkill? I highly recommend it. Not only does it break down the essentials of picking. It’s a great read!

  7. Thanks so much Bill. I just bought one of these and was searching to see if you’d done any videos on how to use them. You rock.

  8. It’s my 30th birthday today and I see a new video on a tool that is not often seen in use by hollywood, one that I kinda wanted to see a video of by you for a while. Not the worst birthday gift, but one (though coincidental) that I thoroughly enjoyed seeing today. Thanks!

  9. Great video like always, I enjoyed watching it, and learned a bit more about using a lockpicking snap gun.

  10. yup the snap gun you are seeing in the review is the double tap snap gun. i own one of these and i own the flash snap gun wich is just a regular snap gun. not sure wich one i like better but both seem to work good.
