My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. Like you Bill i have a network of people that give me there used or busted up locks and i got the same one you have there. The key pins were all bound it had been in the weather for a while. I sprayed some WD-40 in the core and let it sit for five minutes and picked it open within five seconds with a rake. hahaha Master Locks are complete junk

  2. My grandpa recently found an M5 on the side of the road as well. He brought it to me to pick open. I opened it while we sat on the front porch. It took me less than a minute. He was impressed. I told him not to be, and that MasterLock is pretty much the epitome of junk.

  3. Dokter Bosonianbill cured my block on cracking my M5, it was the tension wrench; I was using too smaller one and binding on the case. Embarrassing after cracking several other locks with spools and other nasty things. Thanks Bill.

  4. This is the lock on my ginnel door. I've spend a lot of the last few days watching your videos and deciding if I wanted to get into picking as a hobby. I decided I do, bought a pic set yesterday that arrived today (Southord C3010) and figured I'd have a pop at this lock first.

    3 seconds!

Wrench in, worm in, rock a bit, done. I say that's a victory of your videos over this lock. So thanks for all the entertainment and education you've given a new picker.

  5. I think that particular lock demonstrates how important it is to have a good tension tool. I've got the same lock and it won't rake open unless the tension is just right.

  6. I think "Tough under fire" is a good motto for them. Heat one of those things to a few hundred degrees and you'll need to wear oven mitts to pick it. Should make it harder.

  7. Every time I walk past the locks in hardware at Walmart, I laugh inside my head. I laugh cause Walmart only sells locks that Mr. Bill and many other lock pickers have made a habit of proving that they're worthless for security.

  8. Thanks for doing a basic lock and talking about it a little. I think a lot of beginners appreciate this kind of video. Who didn't start on Master locks?

  9. What are some locks that you would definitely recommend that you've come across? We use Abus (not sure on the model), but I'd love to use the best, but not overly expensive, locks.
