My vises are made by Panavise, a U.S. Company.  The one with the wide jaws is the model 350.  The smaller one is the model 301. Both have the 312 Base mount – www.panavise.com

  1. I found a better tool for this….. a torch! There is just enough clearance between the number wheel and the metal casing to actually see the flat spot coming around. Once their all at the front, 5 clicks on each dial and in you go.

  2. you don't even need the tool
you can just use your hands … go through the dials from left to right to left etc, doing the following:
start turning it a bit and work out the "minimum" pressure from your fingers to turn it for most numbers – except for one spot.
that spot is either your number or it is one off from your number (if you moved the front of the dials down then you have to turn them one up for the real number)
you will very clearly feel the spot, try it a few times … once you got all numbers done go over them once more to make sure (sometimes 2-3 seem to bind in spots they're not supposed to at first try)

you can open it within 30 seconds without any tools

  3. If you have time, then the "easiest" yet time consuming way to open a combo lock is to just rush it, since if it has 4 digits, it has 10k combos, 3 digits then its 1k combos, so you can just go through it like 0001, 0002, 0003 etc, eventually you will find the right one.

And this is if you do not have the tools, but you have the time, especially if it is your own lock and have forgotten the combo.

    1. Hi Liam,But, where exactly I put the discount co&?;Id#8217ed like to use the discount code to pay $100, but I didn’t find any field to put it.Thank you

  4. Hey Bill. I recently bought one of the Sparrows decoder tools. It came and I notice it is extremely rough. Like sand paper rough. And has sharp but rough edges. Is this due to poor manufacturering or are decoders supposed to be rough like that. Should I polish it or leave it as is?

  5. Hi Bosnia BILL i just want to say that when you hit the flatsspots on the master combo box, it is two clicks down on each reel that gets you to open it, yours was two clicks regards mike big fan!!

  6. They sell this in Denmark under a brand name called Rockfort. In a hardware store called Harald Nyborg, item number 3066

Just a heads up to warn others from buying this.
