Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well!  This year our family had their traditional get together where we fought like cats and dogs enjoyed each other’s company and tried to keep uncle Ernie from drinking too much exchanged gifts.  Seriously, I hope you took time to enjoy the season and spend some time with your family and friends.

Like all of you I’ve made a New Year’s resolution.  Yeah, the regular stuff like lose weight, get better looking and be nicer to children… but my MAIN resolution is to finally open a Mul-T-Lock MT-5+ on camera!  I have managed to open two in November, but each attempt took hours and I didn’t video it.  I found that the more I play with the MT-5+, the better my luck get.  Of course, that’s true with almost everything…

I’m also going to keep trying to attract more people to LockSport by continuing the free website giveaways and making “how to” videos.  As the number of people entering our hobby increases, the manufacturers will have more incentive to produce higher quality, less expensive new gear.  YOU are clearly influencing the marketplace with your participation, comments and purchases.  Based on all the new stuff hitting the marketplace, the lock picking manufacturers are LISTENING to you!

Two things continue to motivate me:

  • New pickers asking questions and the community piling on to encourage them through the “learning process”, and,
  • Innovative new equipment that takes advantage of new materials and manufacturing processes.

I have so many things to be grateful for!

Thank you for your comments, support, and friendship!

  1. Thank you! I’ve been studying the theory behind picking for years, but never actually picked a lock until I started watching your videos. Now I’m trying to get locks anywhere I can! (Not always easy) Every time I pick a lock, even the old Yale I do for fun, still makes me smile. Thanks for sharing your passion.

  2. Thanks, Bill. Happy New Year! I just ordered the Creeper set from Sparrows. I play guitar and decided to become an all around picker.

  3. Happy New Year, Bill. Thanks for your fantastic website and tutorials. Apart from the technical side of lock picking, your patience and temperament is what really strikes me the most; frustration is probably the biggest hurdle to master and you, inadvertently, teach us how to stay calm, making half the battle won.

Looking forward to more of the same great advice and entertaining videos.

  4. Bill,
Thank you for all your videos.
I learned so much from you and I know I will keep learning from future videos.

    Have a great year,
